The short version. Chapter 1 is free forever. Everything else needs a subscription, which starts with seven free days and can be cancelled at any time from your iPhone.
Agreeing to these terms
By downloading or using Koala Lingo you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
What the app is
Koala Lingo teaches languages through short graded stories. It is a learning aid. We do not promise any particular result, any exam grade, or any level of fluency in any period of time.
Your account
The app creates an anonymous account for you, with no personal detail. You are responsible for the device it lives on. If you uninstall the app without syncing, the progress on that device is lost and cannot be recovered.
Free and paid
- Chapter 1 is free, permanently. You can replay it as often as you like.
- Reviewing words you have already learned is free.
- The remaining chapters and the full wardrobe require a subscription.
- There are no lives, no hearts and no waiting. Getting an exercise wrong never locks you out of anything.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your App Store account.
- A 7-day free trial is offered once per Apple ID.
- Payment is taken when the trial ends, unless you cancel first.
- The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel it in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone.
- Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are in the EU or the UK, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
What you may not do
- Copy, extract or redistribute the stories, audio or artwork
- Resell access, or share a subscription outside Apple Family Sharing
- Try to bypass the subscription, reverse engineer the app, or disrupt the service for others
Content and ownership
The stories, the exercises, the mascot and the artwork belong to Koala Lingo. The subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable right to use them inside the app, and nothing more.
Availability
We try to keep the app working, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of faults. Content may be added, changed or removed as the courses are improved.
Liability
The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss arising from its use. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
Law
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
