The short version. Koala Lingo works without an account. We do not ask for your name, your email or your phone number, we do not use advertising, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.

What the app stores
Everything the app records is about your learning, and it is kept on your device first. When syncing is switched on, the same data is copied to our database so you do not lose it when you change phone.

The anonymous account
When you first open the app, an account is created without any personal detail. It is a random identifier, generated on the spot. It is not linked to your email, your phone number, your Apple ID or any advertising identifier, and it cannot be used to work out who you are.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifier, and no advertising at all
- No location, no contacts, no photos, no microphone
- No tracking across other apps or websites
- No sale or sharing of data with data brokers
Notifications
If you allow reminders, they are scheduled on your device, by your device. Nothing is sent from our servers and nothing about your habits leaves your phone to produce them. You can withdraw the permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card, your billing address or your Apple ID. We only receive confirmation that a valid subscription exists, through our payments provider RevenueCat.

How long we keep it
Your learning data is kept while the app is installed and syncing. Ask us to delete it and it is removed within 30 days. Uninstalling the app removes everything held on the device immediately.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Write to privacy@koalalingo.com. Because the account is anonymous, we may need the account identifier shown in the app's Profile screen to find your records. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
Koala Lingo is rated 4+ and contains nothing unsuitable for children, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything about them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
